Doug Oliver – “Oliver the Earth and Sky”

Van Gogh’s Ear would like to extend a warm welcome to landscape virtuoso, and Prescott’s own, Doug Oliver. 

Doug Oliver was born in Dayton, Ohio and came west to California with his family as a young boy.  He received his art education in California, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Chouinard Art Institute (California Institute of the Arts) and a Masters of Art degree from the University of Redlands, California. 

He is a former educator, teaching in the California secondary and community college systems before committing full time to his studio.

Doug Oliver is represented by several premier art galleries throughout the West.  His dramatic paintings are hanging in some of the finest corporate and private collections in the nation.

 

His artwork has been featured in Art of the West and Southwest Art magazines. His signature subject matter, for which he is most widely known, are images of soaring skies and dramatic landscapes of the West. 

Oliver has recently added giclees to his portfolio in addition to his collection of fine art poster-prints.

Oliver and his wife Barbara, make their home and studio in northern Arizona.  They have two grown sons; Jeffrey, an IT Principal Consultant and web developer in San Diego and Jason, Post Production Sound Editor with Warner Bros. and the Disney Studios in Burbank, CA.
