Myron Whitaker
Myron has been a ceramic artist for the past eight years working from his studio in located in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Although Myron is familiar with all ceramic processes, his main passion is the Raku firing because he feels it is the most exciting and the most rewarding. The anticipation of “instantaneously seeing the red hot clay evolve into the final glazed and black smoke piece of art is simply the most gratifying part of the journey.” Myron has also developed all of his own glazes and has introduced a new matte glaze that explodes into the most beautiful southwest colors. His custom glazes along with his pure forms and ability to control the firing process makes Myron’s work one of the most stunning bodies of ceramic work around! Myron shows in galleries across the United States and his work is in many collections.
