Newy Fagan
Since she was a little girl, Newy has loved horses. Thus, it is fitting that she chose to incorporate them into her artwork as an adult. Born in Connecticut, Newy obtained her B.S. degree from Connecticut State College in Art Education and continued her studies of glass techniques at Guilford Handcraft Center in Guilford, Connecticut; at Camp Colton in Colton, Oregon; and also at the prestigious Penland School in Penland, North Carolina. In 1983, Newy began designing horses into glass pieces. Her stylized work has earned wide acclaim including “Best of Show” at the International Glass Craft Expo. Newy also travels to teach seminars to other glass artists about creative kiln techniques including the many creative ways she has developed for shaping, coloring and fusing glass in a kiln. Her work is exhibited in shows and galleries throughout the United States.
