As a self-taught artist, I have dabbled in some form of art for as long as I can remember. I began initially with pen and ink drawings that I accented with watercolor. I continued on to learn the art of calligraphy. In the late 80’s, a close friend introduced me to paper-making. I am now able to create beautiful hand pulled sheets of paper to enhance my beautiful lettering and drawing. I eventually moved on to designing a line of paper art jewelry and stationery that was sold to boutiques and galleries throughout Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and California. My true passion, however, has become book binding where I create hand bound metal journals. Each journal is a unique one-of-a-kind creation, crafted from nickel silver, copper, bronze, and brass upon which I etch a cover image. I often use patinas and found objects and beading to further embellish my books. The pages are a heavyweight archival cotton paper that is suitable for all writing and artist materials as well as mounting photos. The hand torn pages add an organic beauty to each page. My journals are to be cherished for recording everyday moments, celebrating life’s special events and moments. They make unforgettable gifts sure to be cherished for years to come.
